Here we are again, back in Wichita. Funny how that worked out.
The only down side is that we e-mail at a different place than I did in Andover, so I can only spend half as long on the computer.—It’s timed :(— Therefore, my letters will probably be about half as long…But that’s ok. That just means they won’t be so painfully long to read haha.
So I am the fresh sister of Bel Aire…actually, Sister Tenney, my newest daughter, is officially the “freshest.” She just came out of the MTC, but the cool part is that she is waiting on a Visa to go to Brazil! We have FOUR hours of study each day. Crazy huh? By the time we get out after lunch, it feels like half of the day is already gone…because it is! It’s definitely something we will have to get used to. Anyways, Sister Tenney is 19, from the Sacramento area of California, and has never lived away from home before. But she is doing great, so you never would have guessed it…except when she admitted that she’s never been grocery shopping by herself before 😉 She’s a cutie. My other companion, who is also a Sister Training Leader with me, is Sister Christenot. She’s from Wyoming, LOVES Broadway musicals (she’s sung just about every Broadway song you could think of in the shower over the past 5 days), and has been out just over a year. Both of my companions are 5′ 2″ and have brown hair, so with me in the middle–tall and blonde(ish)–our family photo is looking preeeeetty symmetrical.
We have been carless AND phoneless for the past week. It’s a little tricky to be a sister leader without having any way for people to communicate with you or to go anywhere. This week has been somewhat slow because we have had to wait on other people for a lot of things. But, sometimes that’s how opening an area goes. We’ll just have to be patient. The great news is we got our car today! I LOVE it. It’s a brand new, white, chevy cruze. They are so fun to drive. We’re pretty spoiled actually 🙂 We’ll probably get our phone some time this week (hopefully). Oh! I talked to the mission president today, he said Sister McQuay is doing great and she loves her new companion. That made me so relieved to hear! As sister leaders, we’ll be doing about 2 exchanges a week because there are so many sisters we are over. Crazy, huh? I’m so excited 🙂
Ok. Down to business. How is the work? Gradually progressing 🙂
There is a baptism this Saturday for a woman named Gabby. The elders in our ward have been working with her for a few months and she is GOLDEN. What an amazing young woman. She’s about 23 and has a 2 year old daughter. I am so excited for her and grateful that we get to be there for her on Saturday, especially because she won’t have any family attending because they are all in Peru.
We found two new investigators that we will be meeting with this week. Can’t wait to teach a lesson after so much planning and organizing over the past few days. We actually have a lot of lessons planned for this week. I love being a missionary.
Well this is rough–the computer is about to kick me off, so have a great week!
