We had another great week. Our lesson with Jackie went really well on Tuesday…but it started out a little rocky. She texted us about two hours before and said she didn’t think now was the right time for her because she had a lot of things she was trying to work through and didn’t want to hurt our feelings…but we went over anyways. I was not taking no for an answer. I’d prayed too long for Jackie to miss this opportunity to share part of the eternal gospel with her. So we knocked on her door and she opened it and invited us in. I told her, “We got your text, but we didn’t really listen because you’re too important to do that.” haha I was pretty bold in that lesson. So she listened and the spirit was really strong. I know she felt it.
Lori and her family came to church! It was great. They are new investigators that we came in contact with through the nativity. Another investigator is named Oralia, and we just found out she’s pregnant with twins! Que? Gemelos? en serio??Wooooooah. I think she’s 42. Her youngest son is 18, so these twins probably weren’t in the forecast haha. But she is SO excited, and we’re excited for her! more good news is she quit her job on Sundays, so now she can come to church! Our fireside is coming along! We’ve picked all the music and we started our ward choir yesterday. Grandma McKay would be proud because I am the first ever choir director in the Liberal Ward…and the accompanist…but not for long because I reeeeeally shouldn’t be playing the piano for anyone. That would just be a trial on everyone’s ears. But it’s really exciting and we should have a great program!
The CES Young Adult fireside last night was amazing. It seemed to fit perfectly with some of the things that are happening in this area and things I’ve experienced and seen people experience on my mission. What a stellar talk and testimony strengthener!
We also had zone conference on Saturday. It was really neat and so fun to see everyone again. We learned a lot and really felt the spirit. But by the time we’d gotten home, more than 12 hours later because of drive time, I was so exhausted and the first appointment we went to was really rough. But I prayed reeeeally hard during it and we made it through. And then I prayed reeeally hard after it for our next appointment, and it went great! Heavenly Father always answers our prayers for strength. He loves us and wants to help us every step of the way. Love you lots and hope you have a wonderful week!
